In an economy where prices change by the hour and people struggle to find food to eat, dogs and cats became the most vulnerable.Many of our animals are dying due to the lack of accessible food and medicine.

Who we are

Paw Hero began over ten years ago as a heartfelt initiative by a group of friends determined to alleviate the growing number of stray animals in Venezuela.While we have been a sanctuary for many years, the brutal humanitarian and economic crisis in Venezuela has changed everything. As the diaspora forced many to leave the country, our original team was reduced until only one person remained to manage the entire shelter.Today, she continues (name will remain anonymous) this monumental task alone, despite having lost her vision due to cataracts. In a country where food is scarce for people, the situation for these animals is critical. We are now their last line of defense, working to ensure that their legacy continues to thrive against all odds.

Although our shelter primarily has dogs, we have rescued and rehabilitated more than 50 cats. At the moment, 15 cats need your help.

100% of your funds is transferred directly to the shelter's facilities and personnel. We ensure every dollar reaches the rescues to cover food, medicine, and rent, with zero administrative fees taken from your contribution.

Will my donation be tax-deductible?

Yes. Once you become a monthly donor, you will immediately receive an invoice for tax purposes. Your support helps us maintain a sustainable sanctuary for over 250 animals.

How is the money transferred to Venezuela?

We use secure, direct channels to ensure funds are available immediately for local expenses. Because prices in Venezuela change by the hour, we prioritize speed and transparency to buy food and medicine at the best possible rates.
